Nagaland Governor to discuss development issues with CM Rio

Dimapur: Nagaland Governor, La. Ganesan, has advised the people to insist for better road connectivity, schools, hospitals, banks etc. from the government and informed that he will hold discussion with the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, on matters relating to development in the state.

The Governor stated this during a short programme during his visit to Khonoma, the first green village of India and Asia, held at the community hall ‘Terhotsiese’ on Thursday. He has termed Khonoma village ‘very fortunate’ as God has given them a beautiful place and greenery.

Informing that the purpose of his visit to the village was to know the requirement of people from the government, he urged the people to insist for better road connectivity, schools, hospitals, banks etc. from the government. Stating that the central government provides various schemes/ project to benefit to the people, he advised them to take up their requirements with the government.

The Governor also informed that he would hold discussion with the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, on matters relating to development in the state, an update from Raj Bhavan stated.

The Governor acknowledged the people of Khonoma village for their warm welcome and expressed his happiness for the conservation of their forest. Later, he visited viewpoint, Hiekha Morung, and NSF Memorial.

The Governor was accompanied by Raj Bahavan officials including commissioner and secretary to Raj Bhavan, Wezope Kenye, and SDO (C) of Sechu Zubza, Tiayanger Jamir.

The chairman of green village and KNCTS, Kezhaserie Meyase, thanked the Governor for his visits and also highlighted about demographic and topographic information, history, from hunting/ logging community to conservation community, their success story, rich biodiversity and achievements.

The programme was chaired by Ronald Rokosekho Meru, while an invocation prayer was said by Rev. Fr. Vizo and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Huzo Mezu.
