
Nagaland Governor La Ganesan along with officers and staff of Raj Bhavan paid tribute to the revolutionary heroes, an update from PRO Raj Bhavan stated.
In his address, the Governor highlighted how the Martyr’s Day came to be observed. Ganesan shared that the whole country has heard about the brave heroes who laid down their lives while they were in the prime of their youth for the cause of nation and therefore have become an inspiration for many young men and women to fight for freedom.
Commissioner & Secretary to the Governor, Wezope Kenye, who spoke on the significance of the celebration, said Martyr’s Day is a day of remembrance and tribute to the brave men who laid down their lives for the freedom of the country.
Kenye said their sacrifice was not in vain, as it ignited a spark of revolution and resistance among the people of India. He also said that they were willing to sacrifice everything, including their lives, for the country.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]The brave men fought against injustice, inequality, and oppression, and in doing so, he said they became the epitome of courage and sacrifice.
Kenye further reminded that Martyr’s Day or Shaheed Diwas is not just a day of remembrance, but it is also a day of “reaffirmation of our commitment to values and ideals that our freedom fighters stood for.”
