Dimapur, March 2 (EMN): Nagaland Governor RN Ravi on Tuesday took his first dose of Covaxin at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi following Covid-19 protocols.

An update from the Raj Bhavan informed that the governor will receive his second dose after 28 days. Mentioning that people have option to choose either Covaxin or Covishield, it said the former, which is indigenously produced by Bharat Biotech, is “safe and reliable”.

“He thanked the Indian scientists for this wonderful gift to humanity. When the world is in the throes of a global pandemic for the last over one year, it is a matter of pride for every Indian that our country is the vaccine hub of the world and has brought this life saving vaccine to the needy humanity in several countries,” read the press release.

Ravi also expressed hope that the people of Nagaland will take advantage of the vaccine and help the country in defeating the Covid-19 for good.
