DIMAPUR — Nagaland Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio extended greetings to the Chakhesang community on the occasion of the Sokronye festival.
In a message issued from Lok Bhavan in Kohima on Wednesday, the governor said Sokronye is a sacred festival of purification and renewal signifies a time of spiritual cleansing, reconciliation and preparation for the new agricultural season.
With the observance of customary rites and renewal of community bonds, he expressed hope that the festival would inspire harmony and collective progress.
“I wish the celebrations to bring peace, prosperity and a bountiful year ahead for all,” the governor said.
In a message on X, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio wished the Chakhesang community community good health, unity, and a year filled with peace and hope.
“Greetings to the Chakhesang community on Sökrönye, a festival of sanctification that invokes good health and marks the traditional rite of passage into adulthood. Wishing the community good health, unity, and a year filled with peace and hope,” he wrote.
