Dimapur, July 13 (EMN): Nagaland Governor RN Ravi and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio have expressed shock and sadness over the demise of Dr. KC Nihoshe, former MLA and Parliamentary Secretary to the government of Nagaland, who passed away at the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research in Dimapur, on Tuesday.
“In his demise, the State has lost a genuine and a tall leader. I on behalf of the people of Nagaland and my own behalf, convey our heartfelt condolences. I pray to God to give strength to the family to bear this tragic loss and grant them solace at this hour of enormous pain,” read Ravi’s condolence message.
Rio described Nihoshe, who contested in the state Assembly elections in 2008 as an independent candidate from 35 Assembly Constituency Zunheboto, “as an efficient, sincere and visionary leader, who had a genuine concern for the welfare of society”.
“His demise is a great loss to the Nagas especially the Sumi community and the vacuum created will be difficult to fill. Though he is no longer with us, his selfless deeds will always be remembered,” read his condolence message.
“In this hour of grief, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members. It is our humble prayer that the Almighty God will give them strength and courage to bear the irreparable loss. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace,” it added.
