DIMAPUR — Governor of Nagaland La. Ganesan and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio have extended greetings to the Garo community on the occasion of the Wangala festival.
In a message on Wednesday, Ganesan invoked the blessings of Misi Saljong, the sun god, wishing prosperity, health, and bountiful harvests. “As we celebrate this vibrant festival with the rhythmic drums, traditional dances, and heartfelt gratitude, may our bonds of community grow stronger and our cultural heritage continue to flourish,” he said.
Chief Minister Rio, in a message on X, highlighted the Wangala’s significance as a post-harvest festival of thanksgiving, expressing hope that it would inspire the sharing of intergenerational knowledge and cultural history.
Both leaders wished the Garo community a joyous and successful celebration.
