Nagaland Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla begins two-day visit to Wokha district, reviewing projects and visiting Doyang Hydroelectric Power Station.

DIMAPUR — Nagaland Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla commenced a two-day official visit to Wokha district on Saturday to review developmental initiatives and interact with stakeholders.
According to a DIPR report, at Doyang, Bhalla visited the Doyang Hydroelectric Power Station and held a meeting with officials of the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO). The programme, chaired by head of project John Zeliang, featured a presentation by Senior Manager (civil) Zachamo Ovung.
The presentation outlined the inception and historical significance of the Doyang Hydroelectric Dam, highlighting key initiatives undertaken by NEEPCO in areas such as infrastructure development, community outreach, funding mechanisms, and regional connectivity.

Bhalla commended the NEEPCO team for their service and contribution to the state’s energy sector. He lauded their efforts in enhancing operational efficiency, fostering sustainable development, and ensuring reliable power supply to the region. He said such institutions play a vital role in driving economic growth and improving the quality of life for citizens.
The governor was accompanied by the First Lady of Nagaland, Jyoti Grover Bhalla, along with Wokha Deputy Commissioner Vineet Kumar, Superintendent of Police T Relo Aye, and other senior officials.
He is scheduled to stay overnight at Doyang and continue site visits and scenic reviews of the dam and surrounding areas the following day.
