Nagaland govt. proposes a multi-departmental committee to examine RMSA 2016 teachers’ grievances and resolve scale pay issues.

DIMAPUR — The School Education department has proposed the formation of a committee to examine the grievances of RMSA 2016 teachers and work towards a resolution of their demands.
According to a DIPR update, the proposed body will include representatives from School Education department, Samagra Shiksha, Finance department, Law and Justice, All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association, along with members of the RMSA 2016 batch.
The proposal was put forward during a meeting convened on Thursday by Abhijit Sinha, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Home Commissioner of Nagaland. The meeting was attended by officials from School Education, Samagra Shiksha, Law and Justice, and representatives of the RMSA 2016 teachers.
At the meeting, Sinha explained the processes and constraints faced by the state government in addressing the demand for implementation of scale pay.

Acknowledging the contributions of the RMSA 2016 teachers, he appealed to them to consider the adverse impact of their agitation on students and assured that the government was keen to resolve the matter.
He also underscored the lengthy nature of litigation and suggested exploring workable alternatives to end the stand-off.
Government officials further assured the teachers that their memorandum submitted to the chief minister would be studied, while urging them to call off their agitation and return to classrooms to prevent further disruption to students’ learning, it stated.
