Kohima, March 11 (EMN): Residents of Officer's Hill Colony (Thegabakha) and the 1st Assam Rifles in Kohima jointly organised a ‘Goodwill programme’ at the colony panchayat hall on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Col. Umesh Sati, commandant of 1st Assam Rifles, has highlighted on the various initiatives and activities taken by the unit in the last one year and four months. He added that the unit had organised 56 blood donation camps and reached out to those in needs on various occasions. He added that the unit was every ready to help the citizens.
The MLA of 8th Western Angami assembly constituency (AC), Keneizhakho Nakhro, has appreciated the Assam Rifles for their contribution towards the Officers Hill Colony. He exuded hope that the goodwill mission would continue to grow even in the future.
Former Nagaland chief secretary, Lalthara, who is also the advisor of the Officers Hill Colony Council (OHCC), remarked that the colony administration is doing good and expressed his delight to reside in the colony for the last seven years.
He also exhorted the colony residents to work with spirit of cooperation and teamwork.
Thejao Sekhose, president of Association of Kohima Municipal Ward Panchayat (AKMWP), Kohima, and another representative also addressed the gathering.
The welcome address was delivered by Khrielakuo Sekhose, chairman of Officers’ Hill Colony Council (OHCC), wherein he acknowledged the 1st Assam Rifles led by the Col. Umesh Sati for donating chairs and tables to the panchayat.
Alemwapang Ao, general secretary of OHCC, chaired the programme, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Shepo Hiesu, assistant general secretary of OHCC, and SN Among Jamir, pastor of Ao Baptist Church Kohima, said a prayer.
