
A student from Nagaland topped the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) batch of 2017 at Dental College, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), in Imphal.
Akhrienuo Kiso from Kohima was awarded a gold medal and a certificate for securing first position in BDS at Dental College, RIMS, during the 5th Graduation Day celebration held at the institute’s Jubilee Hall on Monday.
The second position holder in BDS course at the medical institute is Aurelia Wallang from Meghalaya and the third rank holder is Laimayum Ninia Devi from Manipur.
This year, a total of six students (2017 batch) from Nagaland graduated from Dental College, RIMS, a premier medical institute in the Northeast region.
Out of the 53 graduating students (BDS) from the institute, 13 of them were from Manipur, nine from Tripura, five from Sikkim and four from Arunachal Pradesh.
Chairman of Manipur Public Service Commission, Lsiahram Angam Chand Singh; Director of RIMS, Prof. H Priyosakhi Devi; and former Head of Department of Orthodontics, Prof. Oinam Brajachand Singh, were present during the Graduation Day programme.
It may be mentioned that Dental College, RIMS was established in 2012 with an aim to provide quality education in dentistry courses with clinical intensive programmes and specialist staff.
