Rolio Z Lohe becomes Nagaland’s first FIBA-licensed statistician, marking a milestone for basketball and expanding the state’s international presence
Dimapur, Sep. 9 (EMN): Nagaland basketball has reached a new milestone with Rolio Z Lohe becoming the first person from the state to earn a FIBA Statistician licence.
Lohe holds FIBA Statistician Licence No. 41916, according to the Nagaland Basketball Association (NBA), marking a significant step for the state’s presence in the international basketball ecosystem.
His achievement comes in the wake of the FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2026, which began in Ahmedabad on August 13. Ahead of the tournament, the FIBA Regional Office–Asia, under the aegis of the Basketball Federation of India (BFI), conducted a FIBA Statisticians Workshop in Ahmedabad on August 10 and 11.
The workshop, attended by 49 aspirants, covered the FIBA Statisticians’ Manual 2024 and the use of FIBA LiveStats software.
Lohe has built his credentials in basketball through coaching, officiating and sports-management training. He completed a six-week Basketball Coaching Certificate Course at the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Bengaluru, in 2023.
In March 2024, he qualified as a WABC Coach after successfully completing the World Association of Basketball Coaches programme held in Chümoukedima. He subsequently appeared for the Basketball Federation of India’s B Panel examination in Chennai in September 2025.
From April to May this year, Lohe also completed an internship as Coach, Events and Operations Manager at Lakshyan Academy of Sports in Bengaluru, gaining experience in coaching and sports management.
NBA honorary secretary Sentiningsang Longkumer described Lohe’s achievement as a “proud and defining moment” for Nagaland basketball.
“Rolio’s dedication, perseverance, and commitment to learning have opened a new pathway for our state in the global basketball arena,” Longkumer said.
