Dimapur, July 10 (EMN): Following the announcement of Unlock 2 in the state from July 11 to the 17th, the Home department, government of Nagaland, has revised guidelines with further relaxation of lockdown restrictions and reopening of more economic activities.
The High Powered Committee (HPC) on Covid-19 observed during the review of the pandemic situation in the state on Friday that there is a declining trend in positivity rate and a significant decline in the number of active cases, hospitalisation and persons requiring oxygen support across the state, stated the order issued by the chief secretary of Nagaland, J Alam.
In view of the improvement in the overall Covid-19 situation in the state, as reflected by the various parameters, the HPC felt that further relaxation and re-opening of more activities need to be considered while continuing with the existing lockdown measures as the positivity rate is still above 5% and the requirement for consolidating the gains made so far due to lockdown measures.
According to the new order from the Home department, shops and business dealing with all kinds of goods, items and articles will be permitted to open from 6 am to 4 pm during the Unlock 2 period. Public utility services like LPG and e-Commerce as well as takeaways and home delivery will also be allowed on all days.
Outdoor sports activities other than competitions will be permitted, subject to attendance of not more than 100 persons and adherence to SOP.
Long distance train will be allowed to stop at Dimapur railway station. However, all inbounds passengers should be asymptomatic and shall be required to produce certificate of having completed their covid-19 vaccination (both doses). In this regard, the Home department will issue a separate SOP.
Inter-district movement is allowed during the Unlock 2 period if the persons are asymptomatic and completed their Covid-19 vaccination (both doses) and adhere to SOP. However, it said the Home department would issue additional details in this regard.
The order went on to state that bus service, intra and inter-district taxi service and pillion riding on two wheelers will continue to remain suspended.
It may be mentioned that the district task force can take additional stricter measures based on local conditions- in particular areas, wards, villages, towns or entire districts, if measures are urgently required for containing the spread of Covid-19.
