[dropcap]A[/dropcap]ny decent and honest Politicians in Nagaland would agree that this ushering in of Nagaland State Development Zone and starting the oil fields in Changpang and Tsson villge is not necessary at all at this moment for the so call economic development of Nagaland. All that State government and the politicians have to do is fear God and use the funds for the State from Delhi for the right work honestly that is the solution. Even a 12 year old kid can tell that to our Chief Minister and other ministers. If all the funds are utilized for the correct purpose we can have more than enough jobs for all the Nagas. In fact, there will be abundance of job for the next 10 years, and that the politicians don’t have to gamble with Article 371(A) and Naga peoples lives and our Land. If our politcians become honest and God fearing. God will bless Nagaland. It will be like what the Bible says, Nagaland our Promised Land will be a land flowing with milk and honey.Our Politicians has landed Nagaland In huge debt. Since the center is no stupid enough to bail out our State from the debt. As the center very well knows that this is not a genuine debt but actually “political party spending debt.” The Naga politicians are only left with few options. That is to usher in this Nagaland State Economic Zone and start up the oil wells. Even if it risks Nagaland to be expose to all kinds of danger in the future where even ARTICLE 371 (A) might be compromised. By doing so it will give the politicians, the perfect chance to take our oil, which is the one of the ready and available natural resource in Nagaland, and sell it, so that they can use that money to pay the State debt, which actually would be the debt accumulated by them. In other word they will be selling our oil and paying the debt they landed us in. Of course, they might do some development work for the public. However, they will end up pumping the rest of the money into their off shore accounts or invest in real estate. However, these politicians will make it look like they have done the Nagas a huge favor by paying the State debts. At the end the public will be in the same or in worst financial crisis as we are now, only the politicians will end up with big fat bank account. For now it looks like luck is on their side. You have to appreciate the craftiness of our Naga politicians. If only they would use their craftiness for the good cause of Nagaland, what a tremendous change that would bring.
We hear politicians asking the public to donate lands for the better roads, for jobs and for establishing the Nagaland economic development zone (NEDZ) for the greater cause of Nagaland. It sounds very patriotic, well how about first the politicians start by selling few of the acres of land they have or have registered under some relatives names and their super luxury cars and their wife’s gold silver and diamond and precious stone necklaces and start donating for greater cause and welfare of Nagaland. They speak as if the common Nagas are stupid and ignorant. Nagas today are not just educated but highly educated, smart, wise and exposed to outside world more than any of our Naga politicians today. Honestly, these politicians have no idea how priceless these lands are to us and how deeply it is connected with our lives. Our ancestors not only survived on these land they fought to protect it, they have also buried themselves and their loved one in these precious land. The truth is in the past many people who donated lands for establishing industries, roads, colleges and government offices in return for jobs and compensation did not get anything and have become homeless. what a heavy price to pay for trusting our politicians words. It will be the same situation all over gain only this time it will be a large scale disaster. I am afraid this could actually start up a riot either of violence or non violence which could even escalate to first industrial civil war In Nagaland which would cost precious lives. If our politicians keep going against the will of the our people and playing with the public, the day is not far when Just like in the movies it could give rise to some hardcore Naga extremist who would take up arms and start shooting the top Naga politicians who just sign contracts sitting in an air conditioned room just for selfish gains. And the defense of this extremist will be “one dying for all is better than all dying because of few”
In the beginning, the politicians made us believe that the Nagaland Foot hill Road will be for the benefit of Nagas. However now we are starting to see the truth. It is actually for the greater profit of the outsiders. Those outsiders who will be building industries and companies in Nagaland along the Nagaland Foot hill roads in the so called NSDZ. It is actually for the benefit of the thousand of illegal immigrants who will coming to Ngaland. So all the crores of money, all the labour, trouble and fights and miss understating between our Naga contractors and different Nagas Tribal Hohos that went into construction of this Nagaland foot hill Road was just so that our politicians can usher in the NSDZ, so that when are driving down the Nagaland foot hill road we can watch with heartache the huge companies emptying up all our resources.
First our Naga politicians have sucked Nagaland dry of all its cash now they are convincing us to donate our land which is the only thing we have got, just so they can usher in this monster called NSDZ, and end up selling Nagaland in order to pay their debt. Is this what our Nagaland politics has become? Will these politicians not even spare our land ? What kid of monster politicians have we raised? Yes not all politicians are bad and selfish but if the good politicians keep quite and don’t have the backbone to speak against there fellow colleges wrong actions and deeds we public will think that they are all the same. It is a sad age for Nagas because our very own blood and our very own politicians have become a threat for Nagaland. These politicians are supposed to protect us from both domestic and foreign threat. Today they have become threat for our society and our survival. The threat form outside the state is not that bad however this time the threat is form within our State that is the worst kind of threat. The reason for this madness is because the seed of corruption we Nagas sowed yesterday and nurtured it with all those election and corruption money has paved the way to this. Today we have raised a group of monster politicians who are willing to do anything for money. Today We are seeing the result of not obeying Jesus Christ and making money our God. Today this corrupted wealth has created a new breed of super corrupted Naga Politicians who have long diverted form the word of God. They have injected their conscience and their heart with some sort of highly potent injection which have paralyzed their conscience. Which makes insensitive to so call moral values, which in turn makes them fell so powerful and mighty, today it has let them to the point where are ready to sell Nagaland. We Nagas have done exactly what the Bibles warns in Matthew 7:6 “Do not give dogs what is holy; and do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under foot and turn to attack you. We have given our precious lands to the politicians who will trample under their feet and turn against us at the end.
We have heard one rotten apple spoils the whole basket of apples. For illustration sake, let’s compare our Naga politicians to “apples”. Let’s suppose we have around 40 politicians in Nagaland at present. Out of this 40 say 6 of them are bad apples, 5 of them are very bad apples, 3 of them are rotten apples and 2 of them very rotten apples and the rest reaming are good or excellent apples and they are in the same basket. Now imagine what can all these bad apples, very bad, rotten and very rotten apples do to the remaining good and excellent apples. It will obviously end up destroying all the other good apples in the basket. This is the situation of our Nagaland politicians. Sadly, these bad apples are running our State, because the few good apples cannot or don’t have the guts to stand up and put up a righteous fight for what is right for all Nagas. No wonder our Nagaland State is in a pathetic State.
Chief Minster T.R.Zeliang said that Aricle 371(A) should not be an obstruction to development, it sound a like a valid argument but I think majority of the Naga’s would prefer to choose “obstruction” then to chose “destruction”. The truth is the obstruction caused by Article 371(A) protects Nagaland from total destruction. The obstruction caused by Article 371(A) directly and indirectly protects our Naga Tradition, our identity and our sovereignty, which is greater than any economic development these politicnas can bring to Nagaland. Thank God, for our Interim Naga Leaders who were wise enough include Article 371(A) in the constitution.
