Dimapur, Oct.4 (EMN): The department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources organised an exposure trip-cum-study tour progressive fish farmers of the state to Tripura to sensitise fish farmers on various technological advancements in the field of aquaculture and fisheries.
The department under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) organised the tour from September 24 to the 29th and was led by team leader Khriezhato Nakhro and co-team leader Kughato Rochil, informed an update from the directorate of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources.
They visited government institutions and private farms around Agartala, including the College of Fisheries, Agartala, government prawn hatchery and ornamental breeding unit, M/s Gouree Kamala breeding farm and hatchery, and M/s Rangamai fish Farm, it informed.
Apart from classroom knowledge, practical demonstrations and hands-on training, the farmers were also taught on “fish feed making, fish breeding, integrated fish culture, value-added products and composite fish culture management practices.”
