DIMAPUR — The
Nagaland Ex-Servicemen Community commemorated Armed Forces Flag Day with
special ceremonies.
Led by the director of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement, the
community pinned the Armed Forces flag on the Governor, La. Ganesan, at the Raj
Bhavan on Saturday and on Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio at the State Secretariat
on December 5.
According to an update, speaking on the occasion, the
governor expressed gratitude to the servicemen and their families,
acknowledging their selfless contributions. The chief minister reiterated the
government’s commitment to supporting ex-servicemen and their welfare initiatives.
Flags were pinned on all the officers and staff at the state
secretariat, including Chief Secretary J Alam and Home Secretary Vyasan R,
among others.
The Armed Forces Flag Day, observed annually on December 7,
is dedicated to honouring the courage and dedication of armed forces personnel.
The ex-servicemen community urged the public to contribute to this noble cause
by donating to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund.
