ECI solicits nomination for national media award

Dimapur, Oct. 18 (EMN): The Election Commission of India (ECI) has sought nomination from all the media houses for the national media award for best campaign on voters' education and awareness during the year 2022. Media houses include print media, electronic (television) media, electronic (radio) media and online (internet)/ social media.

A DIPR report informed that the nomination should be submitted to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) or directly to the Election Commission of India (ECI) before November 25. The awards would be in the form of citation, plaque and cash prize, while would be presented on National Voters' Day (January 25, 2023).

It informed that the jury would base their assessment on quality of voter awareness campaign, extent of coverage/ quantity, evidence of impact on the public, coverage on awareness about accessible elections, and any other relevant factor(s).

It stated that entries must have been published or broadcast/ telecast during the relevant period. It added that entries submitted in a language other than English or Hindi would require an accompanying English translation, failing which it would subject to rejection.

Entrants submitting broadcast material should be aware that jury might use only the first ten minutes of features/ programme adding that entries should carry the name, address, telephone and fax numbers and email of the media house.

It further informed that entries should be submitted to Love Kush Yadav, Under Secretary (Communication), Election Commission of India, Nirvachan Sadan,
