Dimapur, Jan. 11 (EMN): The Election Commission of India has set up an expenditure monitoring team to check the usage of money during upcoming Assembly election in the state, informed Kuzonyi Wideo, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Chümoukedima on Wednesday.
He stated this during the launching programme of a poster campaign under Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities to sensitise the public on issues related to voter awareness.
He advised the different communities and unions to be careful with the use of money as it will affect the electoral process.
The official said that the use of money power is ‘very visible in our state’ and therefore asked the people to be self-conscious and careful as the Election Commission will be strict with expenditure.

Further, he also reminded the citizens that this time, villages, unions or communities are prohibited from declaring a consensus candidate, adding that it will be strictly monitored.
Wideo further stated that the poster campaign will be carried out in all the villages under Chümoukedima district.
The programme was held at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner, Chümoukedima, in the presence of Temsuchuba Jamir, SDO (Civil) and assistant election officer, Chümoukedima.
