Dimapur, July 26 (EMN): The District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) in Longleng and Peren have conducted its respective meetings for this month and deliberated on several pressing issues, including developmental programmes and problems faced by the general public.
Longleng: The Longleng DPDB meeting was held at DC’s conference hall on Friday, July 26 under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, John Tsulise Sangtam, according to an update from the DPRO.
The chairman welcomed the members present and explained the reasons behind the delay in conducting the meeting, followed by introduction of the new members and review of last meeting’s minutes.
After deliberation and discussion, the board forwarded the following agenda to the concern department for approval and necessary action:
* Registration of Phom Lempong Children’s Home under Society Registration Act
* Establishment of Primary School at 12th NAP (IR) Battalion, Chingtok
* Grant-in-aid to Christ King School, Longleng.
The House also deliberated on the inconvenience faced by the public due to non-functioning of ATM and other transaction under the State Bank of India, Longleng because of internet service disruption in the district. It has decided to inform the lone bank in the district to redress the issues immediately.
The board also deliberated on non-functioning of Aadhaar enrolment and correction centre in Longleng. It was learned that the equipments provided for Aadhaar centre needs to be updated regularly and poor internet connectivity has affected its functioning. SDO Civil, Longleng, D Robin informed the members that Aadhaar centre will be made operational after updating the system which is underway. He pointed out that internet problem had caused the delay in updating the system.
Dr. Ketholelie Mere, VAS, DVO office Longleng, presented departmental activities of the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary while the ADS (Supply) Longleng, Jamonger Ao highlighted the activities of supply department through PowerPoint.
The DC directed the department of fisheries and irrigation to present its departmental activities in the August DPDB meeting.
Peren: The Peren DPDB meeting was held at the DC’s Conference Hall, district headquarters on July 26 and was chaired by DC & Vice-Chairman of the board Sentiwapang Aier. The house deliberated on the schemes and developmental programmes, informed an update from DIPR.
The house deliberated on various agenda, including Independence Day celebration on August 15, Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyan Schemes, Local Area Developmental Programmes (LADP), Peren District Sports Council constituted, and plastic management notification by the state government.
The DC informed the house that a mass social work will be conducted on August 9 with E.E. PWD Peren as the overall in-charge.
The meeting was attended by DC Peren, APO Peren, district HoDs and DPDB members.
