Nagaland: DMHP and CMHP acknowledge ‘Missionaries of Charity’

Dimapur, Oct. 14 (EMN): District Mental Health Programme (DMHP), Dimapur, and CMHP Prodigals’ Home visited ‘Missionaries of Charity’ at Notun Bosti on October 10 create awareness on mental health and present ration for the residents in commemoration of World Mental Health Day.

The visit, initiated by Dr. Temsuyanger, SMO (Psychiatrist) of DMHP, was to acknowledge the service being provided by ‘Missionaries of Charity’ in giving quality service to persons with mental illness and the destitute, stated an update from Prodigal’s Home.

“In the absence of a government managed shelter home for persons with mental illness in Nagaland, the Charity Home is shouldering a significant responsibility by caring for the neglected,” the statement read.

World Mental Health Day is marked for global mental health education and to draw attention to mental health issues representing global commitment to mobilise support towards activities taken to address the issue of mental health. The theme for 2022 World Mental Health Day was “Make mental health and well-being for all a global priority.”
