Dimapur, Oct. 25 (EMN): The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) Employees’ Welfare Union decided to go ahead with its ‘no pay no work’ agitation from Tuesday (Oct. 25) due to the failure of the government to fulfill its demand.
The union had briefly gone into agitation mode, on September 12, demanding the release of their salaries.
It also wrote a memorandum to the government warning of ceasing work if the salaries were not released within 10 days, beginning September 12, and later extended the date till October 10.
The DMC employees further decided to keep the proposed agitation on hold till October 24 in a meeting on October 7, following an appeal from the DMC administrator the previous day.
An update from the union stated that an emergency executive body meeting of DMC Employees Welfare Union was held on October 21 in regard to the issue of the proposed agitation. It was decided that the agitation would continue from Oct. 25 until its demands are met.
