Dimapur, April 29 (EMN): A new library building at Dimapur Government College (DGC), constructed under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Abhiya 2.0 (Rusa) at a cost of INR 2 crore with a funding pattern of 90:10, was inaugurated by the minister of Higher Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along, on April 29.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, the minister was of the opinion that stakeholders should be grateful to the government of India and the department for the initiative stating that the state government is struggling to create human resources to be at par with the nation in this 21st century.
While maintaining that the institution has become a college of repute, he reminded the gathering on the need to be grateful to each other saying nothing comes easy.
The legislator pointed out that the government infrastructure was in shambles as the public do not care.
“Properties of the government are the properties of the people. If we were to make Nagaland beautiful it will be our efforts to do. We can’t accuse others of breaking Nagaland. We have to take responsibility as it is us who makes the difference” he persuaded.
Informing that there are approximately 33,000 college students studying in Nagaland and an approximate 35,000 students study outside the state, he pointed out that the state revenue is spent outside the state colleges.
“It should be our collective endeavour to make Nagaland vibrant and inclusive”, he concluded.
