DIMAPUR — Deputy Chief Minister, TR Zeliang, and various organisations have vehemently condemned the murder of Ahoa Konyak, chairman of the action committee of Tizit Area Students’ Union (TASU), who was killed on May 25 at Namsa Tizit under Mon district by a drugs peddler while on official duty.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]TR Zeliang: The deputy chief minister, TR Zeliang, while condemning the incident, has appealed to all concerned to cooperate with the investigation agency in order to carry out the investigation without fear or favour so that justice is delivered at the earliest. He further conveyed condolence to bereaved family members and prayed for peace of the departed soul.
ENWO: The Eastern Nagaland Women Organisation (ENWO) has also condemned the murder of a student leader from Tizit by an alleged drug peddler and called upon the government to eradicate the menace of alcohol and drugs abuse in the state, which has become a threat to the society.
ENWO urged the law enforcing authorities to award befitting punishment to the perpetrator as per the relevant section of the law with any leniency and deliver justice to the deceased at the earliest. It further conveyed condolence to the family of Ahoa Konyak and expressed solidarity with TASU.
AZSU-AMN: All Zeliangrong Students’ Union Assam, Manipur and Nagaland (AZSU-AMN), while condemning the killing of a committed leader, urged the law enforcing agencies to award befitting punishment to the perpetrator of such crime without any delay.
It further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and expressed solidarity with TASU in their novel movement on “War against drugs” and other anti-social elements.
ZSUN: Zeliang Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) has also condemned the cold blooded murder of a young and dynamic student leader whose life was tragically taken away while on duty to curb the menace of drugs and drug trafficking in the society.
The union has urged the investigating agency and law enforcing agencies to expedite the process of investigation and award the highest degree of punishment to the culprit and deliver justice to the victim and to the Tizit Area Students' Union.
It further conveyed condolence to the beareaved family member and expressed solidarity with the family and TASU.
MHSU: In another statement, the Mopong Hongkong Students’ Union (MHSU) has condemned the barbaric act of Menshan Konyak for murdering Ahoa Konyak.
MHSU has termed the incident ‘heinous crime,’ which is totally uncalled for in a civilised society.
The union has urged the law enforcing agency to award befitting punishment and called upon peace loving citizens to come forward and fight against drugs.
It further conveyed condolence to the bereaved members.
