DIMAPUR — A delegation from Nagaland is attending the 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) in Bridgetown, Barbados, which began on October 7.
An update from Nagaland Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Branch stated that the conference is being hosted by the Parliament of Barbados and the CPA Barbados Branch.
The inaugural programme of the conference was attended by the President of Barbados, who is also the vice patron of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), Dame Sandra Mason.

It stated that a wide range of workshops would take place under the main conference theme ‘The Commonwealth: A global partner' at the 68th CPC. The CPC workshops are an opportunity for parliamentarians and global experts to discuss major parliamentary issues.
It stated that seven learning and development workshops were held during the main conference. It added that the deputy speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, S Toiho Yeptho, participated in key issues like “Climate change and its threat to global health: finding sustainable solutions” and “Building trust and transparency in democracy: Financial transparency in parliaments and elections.”
Report stated that there would also be four workshops held as part of the 41st CPA small branches conference and workshops at the 9th Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP) conference.
The 68th CPC would culminate on October 15 after undertaking the post conference tour.
