Nagaland: CVLU adopts four-point resolution

DIMAPUR — Chathe Valley Landowners’ Union (CVLU) under Medziphema sub-division of Chümoukedima district has adopted four-point resolution during its meeting held on June 24.

The union resolved that its members have the absolute right to decide whether or not to develop their land, construct temporary or permanent fence, building or to settle down either temporarily or permanently in their own land.

It also resolved that Moava Village Council (MVC) would be held solely responsible should a single boundary pillar, fence, building or any structure belonging to any member of the CVLU is damaged.

The Union also resolved that any form of obstruction on the CVLU members from developing their land, imposition of alien customary laws on them other than the legal and Naga customary laws would not be tolerated.

It further resolved that any form of provocation on the members by the Moava Village Council or individuals would be retaliated.
