
DIMAPUR — The North East Cricket Development Committee (NECDC) hosted the 3rd NECDC Achievers Nite at the State Convention Centre in Shillong on June 1.
A press release stated that the event recognises the exceptional talents and achievements of cricketers from the region. This year's ceremony was organised by the Meghalaya Cricket Association.
Nagaland winners at the event included Aloto Sumi (U-16 Boys Best Batter), Shyerinlo Thong (U-16 Boys Best Wicketkeeper), Yugandhar Singh (U-19 Men Best Batter), Anil Gupta (U-19 Men Best Bowler), Hem Bahadur Chetri (U-23 Men Best Batter), and Afzal Hussain Choudhary (U-23 Men Best Wicketkeeper).
Aloto Sumi received special recognition and was awarded the North East Zone Emerging Player Award (male). Sentilemla Imsong was honoured for scoring the first half-century for the NE Zone in the Senior Women’s Inter-Zonal One Day Trophy. Neizekho Rupreo was recognised for being the highest wicket-taker in the U-23 Men’s Col. CK Nayudu Trophy.
It was mentioned that Nagaland claimed the title of champions in both the U-23 Men’s Col. CK Nayudu Trophy (plate group) and the U-19 Men’s Cooch Behar Trophy (plate group).
Representing the Nagaland Cricket Association at the event were President Kechangulie Rio, Secretary Hyunilo Anilo Khing, and Joint Secretary Watinuksung Jamir.
