The Nagaland cricket team departs for Delhi for practice matches ahead of the Ranji Trophy campaign.
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Ranji team departed for Delhi on Tuesday to participate in two multi-day practice matches ahead of the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2026-27 domestic season.
According to a press release from the Nagaland Cricket Association, the practice matches in Delhi will provide the squad with valuable match exposure and preparation prior to the start of the tournament.
Following the practice fixtures, the squad will travel to Ahmedabad, where Nagaland will play its opening Ranji Trophy match against Arunachal Pradesh from October 11 to 14.
The 16-member Nagaland squad for the first two matches comprises Captain Hokaito Zhimomi, Vice-Captain Jonathan Rongsen, Sedezhalie Rupreo, Imliwati Lemtur, Hem Bahadur Chetri, Joshua Ben Ozukum, guest player Chetan Bisht, Anil Gupta, Yugandhar Singh, Neizekho Rupreo, Odilemba Kichu, Nagaho Chishi, Hopongkyu Sangtam, Saurav Kumar, Vino G Zhimomi, and Aloto Sumi.
The support staff includes Head Coach Debasis Mohanty, Team Manager Nehal Ahmad, Fielding Coach Arzoo Raj, Strength and Conditioning Coach Swadesh Nagre, Physiotherapist Mowalong Kichu, Assistant Physiotherapist Anenti Tep, and Masseur Anirban Roy.
The Nagaland Cricket Association extended its best wishes to the players and support staff for the practice matches and the upcoming season.
