DIMAPUR — The
Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) has congratulated Hem Chetri and Neizekho
Rupreo for being awarded the prestigious MA Chidambaram Trophy for their
exceptional performances in the Col CK Nayudu Trophy (U-23) – Plate Group.
- In a press release, the NCA informed that Hem Chetri was
recognised as the highest run-getter in the tournament, amassing 521 runs at an
average of 43.4, including two centuries and two half-centuries.
- “His consistency and ability to anchor innings under various
conditions have been instrumental in his success,” the association said.
- “Neizekho Rupreo, on the other hand, has been awarded for
his exceptional bowling performance, finishing as the highest wicket-taker with
47 wickets in just 7 matches, including six five-wicket hauls. His ability to
deliver match-winning spells highlights his skill and potential as a frontline
bowler.”
- The NCA informed that the achievements of Hem Chetri and
Neizekho Rupreo mark a significant milestone for Nagaland Cricket, reflecting
the growing potential and competitiveness of the state in domestic cricket.
- “Their performances serve as an inspiration for young
cricketers in Nagaland and beyond,” it stated.
