Nagaland Covid-19 update: 53 new cases detected; state’s tally stands at 7416

Nagaland’s Covid-19 tally has reached 7416 with 53 new cases reported on Wednesday.

The minister of Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, has updated that the state has detected 53 new Covid-19 -- Kohima-25, Mon-14, Dimapur-10, Peren-2, and one each in Tuensang and Zunheboto.

The state also witnessed 85 recoveries -- Kohima-80, Dimapur-3, and Peren-2, the minister added.

According to the information provided by the Health department, Nagaland has 1473 active cases, out of which 1420 are asymptomatic, 39 mild, 10 moderate on oxygen, one severe on oxygen, one with oxygen and two on ventilator. The state also has recorded 5855 recoveries, and 22 deaths, out of which five are ‘not covid-related’.

District-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases showed Dimapur leading the pack with 949 cases, followed by Kohima-347, Mon-96, Mokokchung-35, Tuensang-25, Peren-15, Longleng-4, and one each in Phek and Zunheboto, while Kiphire and Wokha are currently coronavirus-free.
