Dimapur, July 17 (EMN): Forty more Covid-19 positive cases were recorded in Nagaland on Friday, taking the total tally of the state to 956.
This was informed by the minister of Health, S Pangnyu Phom, through a social media update on Friday evening.
"Out of the 146 samples tested, 40 positive Covid-19 cases have been confirmed. 39 in Dimapur & 1 in Peren," the minister tweeted on Friday evening.
The Health minister also informed that 14 Covid-19 patients from Peren recovered on Friday, taking the total recovery tally of the state to 405.
"14 Covid-19 patients from Peren have been recovered. However, the recovered patients will be kept under strict surveillance," read the minister's tweet.
Till date, Health authorities in Nagaland have declared 405 patients as ‘recovered’, 551 active cases and no death.
It may be mentioned that Nagaland recorded its first Covid-19 positive cases on May 25 when three returnees tested positive for the virus.
As of July 17, Dimapur has the highest cases among the districts with 218 active cases, followed by Kohima with 106, Peren – 98, Mon – 83, Tuensang – 28, Phek - 8, Mokokchung -5, two cases each in Zunheboto and Longleng, and one case in Wokha.
