Nagaland Covid-19 update: 34 new cases take state’s tally to 5,263

Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): The minister of Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, has informed that 34 new Covid-19 positive cases were detected in Nagaland on Wednesday, taking the state’s tally to 5,263.

In an update on Twitter, the minister informed that ‘out of 693 results received, 34 cases were confirmed positive for Covid-19; 31 in Dimapur, two in Mon and one in Kohima’.

He added that the state also recorded 25 recoveries -- 23 from Kohima and each from Mon and Phek --, taking the total number of recoveries in the state to 3952.

According to the information provided by the ministry of Health and Family Welfare till the time of filing this story, Nagaland currently has 1218 active Covid-19 cases and 10 deaths.

In regard to district-wise distribution of Covid-19 cases, Dimapur leads with 800 active cases each, followed by Kohima-408, Mokokchung-14, Mon-25, four each in Tuensang and Zunheboto, Peren-3 Kiphire-2, and Wokha-1. Phek and Longleng districts are currently coronavirus-free.
