Dimapur, July 28 (EMN): Pointing out at the poor economy of the state, GB of Hevishe village and convenor of Concern People of Nagaland (CPN), Kahuto Chishi, suggested that as responsible citizens one should come out and work in the business sectors with innovative ideas and contribute towards the economy of the state.
Chishi said this while gracing as the chief guest during the dedication programme of ‘Taste of Kanglei,’ an authentic Manipuri cuisine outlet on Thursday at Super Market Dimapur, informed a DIPR report.
He also encouraged the Naga youthe not to depend only on government jobs but to come out of their comfort zone, take the risks, face challenges and to foray into different business ventures for their survival, while also contributing towards the state economy.
Proprietor of ‘Taste of Kanglei,’ Major (retd) Vikuto Assumi said that while serving in the Indian Army he was posted in Manipur from 2011 to 13 during which time he fell in love with Manipuri food.
Observing that there was no proper Manipuri thali restaurant in Dimapur, Vikuto said he took voluntary release from the Indian Army and mooted the idea of opening a decent Manipuri thali restaurant to make the people feel the Manipuri culture and also to know and understand “our neighbouring state closely through food and foster peace with better relationship.”
He informed that he brought Manipuri cooks from Imphal and further said that rice and all the other ingredients to be used in the restaurant will be supplied from Manipur.
Located at Super market Dimapur, Taste of Kanglei is fully air conditioned and will be kept open from 11 am to 9 pm, the report stated.
Earlier, pastor Lhomithi Baptist Church Dimapur, Toluho Chishi, offered the dedicatory prayer.
