DIMAPUR — The Public Grievances Cell of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has urged the state government to address various issues faced by the students of Sao Chang College in Tuensang.
While highlighting the problems faced by the students of Sao Chang College, PGC has sought immediate repair of a 7 km road from Tuensang town to the college. It also mentioned several incidents of college bus breakdowns due to bad road conditions, the recent one being on August 30.
“There is only one government college for Tuensang and Noklak district with enrollment being 668 where four outdated buses are available, out of which only three are partially functional and for that reason, students often face difficulties and miss their class many a time due to transportation problem and breakdown of outdated buses,” NPCC Public Grievances Cell stated.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]It is alleged that the students approached the elected member of the area in written and verbal forms, as well as the deputy commissioner of Tuensang; however, their efforts fell on deaf ears.
With no positive response from the government, the Public Grievances Cell stated that the students of Sao Chang College organised a protest rally in the middle of the town on August 31.
It also alleged that the college has been functioning without a principal for almost 4 to 5 years (one was deputed as principal in September 2022 but was released again in May 2023).
The Public Grievances Cell of NPCC has called upon the concerned authority to immediately resolve the issues at the earliest.
