
DIMAPUR — In expressing solidarity with its former national president, Rahul Gandhi, in his fearless and uncompromising fight for truth and justice, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), on Saturday, organised a one-day Maun Satyagraha (silent protest) in front of Congress Bhavan in Kohima with the participation of senior leaders, leaders of frontal organisations, departments and cells, and party workers.
NPCC communication department stated that the entire world has seen how Rahul Gandhi has consistently been questioning and exposing the relationship between Modi and Adani on various platforms. It added that his courageous pursuit has forced the prime minister and BJP to resort to crooked measures leading to his conviction and disqualification from the membership of Lok Sabha.
It mentioned that despite all the hardships, Rahul Gandhi has been consistent in his unstoppable fight against the misuse of power by Modi and in fighting for the truth and raising the issues concerning the people of the country. It has quoted him saying, "I am fighting for the voice of my country. I am ready to pay any price."
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]NPCC stated that it is not just the Congress party but the entire nation has condemned the erroneous conviction and disqualification and resolved to stand by Rahul in the noble fight.
NPCC further stated that Rahul Gandhi is not alone but millions of congressmen and crores of people, irrespective of their political affiliations, are with him in his fight for truth and justice.
Meanwhile, NPCC team led by its president, S Supongmeren Jamir, visited Wokha on July 7 and had a close-door meeting with the officials of Wokha DCC on the ongoing welfare schemes and development works in the district.
The NPCC has appealed to all the concerned departments not to neglect or abandon the undergoing projects but complete them on time. While acknowledging the humanity schemes of the Social Welfare department concerning old age pensions and disabilities schemes, NPCC requested the department to release the fund to beneficiaries on time.
It further stated that NPCC and DCC officials made a courtesy call on the deputy commissioner and superintendent of police of Wokha and assured the administration that Congress is ready to give full co-operations for any work concerning the welfare of the citizens.
