Dimapur, Oct. 31 (EMN): Alleging breach of election code of conduct, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has demanded disqualification of BJP candidate contesting in the 60-Pungro-Kiphire assembly constituency bye-election.

An NPCC statement issued by its president, K Therie claimed that the BJP has been found using ‘wine and money’ across the constituency.

The Pungro Village Students’ Union has seized of 24 bottles of IMFL and INR 6,00,500 during its frisking, read the statement.

NPCC has claimed that an amount of INR 5 lakh was paid by the BJP candidate at Phelungre to vote in his favour. It also alleged that BJP had paid as hefty sum to each household as ‘first phase’.

Terming the incidents as the tip of the iceberg, NPCC claimed that the BJP has ‘no conscious vote’ but have to bribe every voter.

‘They have no manifesto, programmes or issues. They do not talk of development programmes neither of social discipline. They cannot even repair the roads and yet, they are asking for votes,’ Therie claimed.
He expressed sadness that some are accepting bribe and Hindutva slowly. He stated that Hindutva is the ultimate manifesto of BJP, which is the political wing of the RSS.

Stating that all BJP MPs and chief ministers are mostly ‘sadhus’, Therie has accused them of trying to include Hinduism curriculum in schools and university.

“They are culturing new generations to accept the ways of the corrupt. They are the ones who encourage moral turpitude. They are the ones who have burnt Graham Stuart Staines and children alive for no fault of theirs but because they are Christians,” Therie added.
