DIMAPUR — Multiple districts across Nagaland conducted the 8th edition of the Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPEx) on Thursday. The mock drill simulated a 7.7 magnitude earthquake and extreme weather conditions to assess disaster response readiness.
Organised by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and respective District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs), the exercise began at 8 am with the sounding of sirens.
This activated the District Emergency Operation Centres and Incident Response Systems across the state, prompting search and rescue, evacuation, and medical operations.
