DIMAPUR — Various organisations, including the Sümi Hoho, Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland, and former NLA Speaker Thenucho Tunyi, have expressed condolences on the passing of prominent Naga personalities.
Sümi Hoho: The Sümi Hoho has conveyed its grief and sorrow at the demise of Kekhriengulie Linyü, former president of the Angami Public Organisation. “At this moment of deep grief, the Sümi Hoho extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and expresses its solidarity with the Angami Public Organisation and the entire Angami community. The Sümi people stand in unity with our Angami brothers and sisters in sharing this irreparable loss,” the hoho stated in a condolence message. The Sümi Hoho also prayed that the Almighty grant eternal rest to the departed soul and give strength and solace to the bereaved family and the Angami people to endure this time of sorrow.
ZBN: The Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland (ZBN) has expressed shock at the sudden demise of Maisiang Teisie, finance secretary of the ZBN, who passed away on Sunday. “We remember him as a humble, stalwart and visionary leader who served for the wellbeing of the Zeliangrong people and in his death, the Zeliangrong community has lost a dedicated and sincere leader,” the ZBN stated in a condolence message. “In this hour of profound grief, the Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland extends our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and praying that the almighty grant them strength, peace, fortitude and solace during this profound loss.”
Thenucho Tunyi: Former Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Thenucho Tunyi, has condoled the demise of Khukiye Swu, former Director of School Education. In a condolence message, Thenucho stated that Khukiye was a remarkable person who influenced the lives of many. “I had the honour of being a student under him when he was the Headmaster of Private Middle School at Kikruma village,” he stated. He went on to state that during those times, having a personality like Khukiye who was sincerely dedicated to a calling of imparting education to young minds, was “monumental in redefining the future course of my people’s history.” “In his death we have lost a decent human being who leaves behind a legacy of dedication and sincerity to his craft,” the message read.
