  • DIMAPUR — An emergency meeting at Raj Bhavan, Kohima, chaired by Governor La Ganesan and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, reaffirmed solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces and national leadership and pledged commitment to national unity and security.

  • In a joint press communiqué, Ganesan and Rio announced that an emergency meeting of top officials of the state government and officials from various security forces, as well as religious and community leaders, was convened to reinforce collective resolve.

  • The meeting affirmed that the Indian Armed Forces, in a resolute act of national defence, conducted Operation Sindoor to neutralise terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), upholding India’s sovereignty and security.

  • “And whereas the people of Nagaland, as proud citizens of India, stand unwavering in their support for the nation’s unity, territorial integrity and the valiant efforts of our armed forces,” the communiqué stated.

  • The assembly expressed unequivocal solidarity with the Armed Forces and the national leadership under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • “We salute the bravery, sacrifice and professionalism of our soldiers in safeguarding our nation against all threats.”

  • It also resolved to urge all religious leaders to conduct special prayer meetings across Nagaland to invoke divine protection for soldiers, national leaders and the nation’s well-being and to sensitise citizens through sermons, dialogues and public engagements about the critical need to uphold national unity.

  • Further, it called upon all citizens to remain vigilant against fake news, divisive narratives and misinformation propagated by anti-national elements; to verify information through official government and military channels before dissemination; and to strictly adhere to government advisories, safety protocols and legal directives to ensure public order and national security.
