DIMAPUR — Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has expressed grief at the demise of Kekhriengulie Linyü, former president of Angami Public Organisation (APO), who passed away after a prolonged illness on Saturday at Eden Medical Centre in Dimapur.
In a condolence message, the chief minister remembered Linyü as a calm, composed, and selfless individual committed to honesty and public service.
Recalling his association with the late leader, Rio said that Linyü had served the government of Nagaland in various capacities with dedication and sincerity before retiring as additional director and head of department, Land Records and Survey. Even after retirement, he continued to serve society, most notably as APO president.
Describing his passing as a major loss, particularly to the Angami community, the chief minister said that the void left by his demise would be difficult to fill.
“At this hour of grief, my family joins me in extending our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family,” the message read. The chief minister also prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
