Nagaland CM condoles demise of former Dimapur Lotha Eloe president

Dimapur, May 18 (EMN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio expressed grief over the demise of Elizabeth Merry, former president of Dimapur Lotha Eloe and wife of NDPP General Secretary T L Merry, on Tuesday.

In a condolence message sent on Tuesday, the CM described the deceased as “a warm-hearted and a selfless person, who always worked for the welfare of the people, especially those belonging to the marginalised sections of society” and added that she made sincere efforts towards women development and empowerment.

“Indeed her demise is a great loss to the family as well as the Lotha Community in general. Her presence will be greatly missed by one and all, however, she will continue to live in our hearts,” read the condolence message.

“I extend my deepest condolences to members of the bereaved family and it is my humble prayer that the Almighty God will grant them peace and solace at this time of grief. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace,” it added.
