Nagaland: CM Chang laid to rest at his native village in Tuensang

Kohima, Oct. 13 (EMN): Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, and Law and Justice, CM Chang, was laid to rest at Noksen, his native village, in Tuensang district on Tuesday.

The 77-year-old leader was reported to have been admitted at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) a week ago, seeking treatment for diabetic, hypertension and typhoid. Later, he tested positive for Covid-19.

A funeral service for Chang was held on Tuesday at Noksen.

Kumar Ramnikant, the deputy commissioner of Tuensang, told Eastern Mirror that the mortal remains of the minister was laid to rest as per standard operating procedure (SOP).

He informed that only a limited number of persons were permitted to attend the funeral service.

Chingmak Kumchuba, the president of Confederation of Chang Students' Union (CCSU), said that Chang was "one of the pioneers" in the field of education in their community.

He said that the departed leader was "the father of education" for the Chang community.
