Dimapur, Aug. 9 (EMN): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has assured the National People's Youth Front (NPYF) that he will write to the Union Home Ministry in support of the case of Rosy Sangma and her nephew Samuel Sangma, who died in Gurugram, Haryana on June 24 and 25 last year.
Both hailed from Nagaland.
This was informed during a press conference by MDC, Garo Hills Autonomous District Council, Aldo A Sangma at Sky View restaurant, Hotel Grand Tizu in Dimapur on Tuesday.
Following the directions of the Home Ministry, the CBI had carried out a preliminary inquiry and an FIR has been registered in the matter. As per the preliminary report, Rosy Sangma allegedly died from medical negligence at Alfaa Health Care Hospital.
Sangma informed that National People’s Party Meghalaya unit led by state working President National People's Youth Front, (NPYF) Dabo M Marak met Rio on Tuesday and submitted a memorandum to initiate stringent action under appropriate sections of the IPC against the accused responsible for the death of late Rosy Sangma and nephew.
Sangma added that as of now CBI investigation is going on but justice is yet to be delivered, and therefore, the NPYF came to Nagaland to appeal to the chief minister and all the people of Nagaland to support and take up this issue seriously.
President of NPP, Dr. Andrew Ahoto said they have given the representation to the chief minister so that the deaths of Rosy Sangma and Samuel Sangma are not in vain.
Ahoto added that it might be negligence or foul play but they need to support one another.
The memorandum urged the CBI to not only book the guilty persons under Section 304-A of the IPC, but also under Section 302 of the IPC concerning murder and Sections 337 (causing hurt) and Section 338 (causing grievous hurt).
