Dimapur, March 25 (EMN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has urged the people of the state to be part of ‘Earth Hour’, a global event aimed at creating awareness about the need to save nature.
“I urge the citizens of Nagaland to observe Earth Hour by turning off non-essential electric lights tomorrow from 8:30 p.m - 9:30 p.m. along with the rest of the world. Everyone can help conserve energy to avoid dire impacts of climate change. Let us practice mindfulness every day,” Rio wrote.
People across the globe observe the day by turning off lights for an hour as a gesture of commitment to the planet.
