Dimapur, Nov. 20 (EMN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has extended greetings to the Garo community on the occasion of Wangala, a harvest festival held in honour of deity Saljong, the Sun-god.

“I extend warm greetings to the Garo community on the happy occasion of Wangala.

May the festival bring blessings of good health and prosperity in everyone's life,” the CM tweeted.

Wangala, also known as the 100 drums festival, is the most popular festival of the Garo community. It marks bountiful harvest after months of toil in the fields and signifies the onset of winter.
