
DIMAPUR — Lieutenant General HS Sahi, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Spear Corps, met with Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio in Kohima on Friday to discuss key issues related to security, peace and development in the region.
During the meeting, the leaders discussed various issues of mutual interest, with a primary focus on enhancing security, fostering peace and promoting development in the region, said an update.
Lt. Gen. Sahi emphasised the Indian Army's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Nagaland and its people. He also expressed gratitude to the Nagaland government for its support in facilitating the Army's operations and initiatives.
The GOC also highlighted the importance of a collaborative approach in addressing the region's unique challenges, it said.
Meanwhile, the chief minister acknowledged the crucial role played by the Indian Army in maintaining peace and security in Nagaland, the update stated.
The army officer also visited the headquarters of the Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) and reviewed their operational readiness. He commended the personnel for their dedication, professionalism, and high morale, encouraging them to maintain their commitment to excellence in all future endeavours, said the report.
