- DIMAPUR — The
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Nagaland, Vysan R, held a state-level meeting
with representatives of various political parties at the Civil Secretariat on
Friday.
- The meeting, which marked the culmination of earlier
discussions held at the Electoral Registration Officers (ERO) and District
Election Officers (DEO) levels, focused on ensuring the active cooperation of
political parties in the electoral process.
- During the meeting, the CEO emphasised that the election
machinery functions primarily for the benefit of electors and political
parties, urging the representatives to actively cooperate and participate in
the electoral process.He also called upon recognised political parties to
appoint Booth Level Agents (BLAs) at polling stations.
- Additional CEO Awa Lorin reiterated the significance of
political parties as key stakeholders in the electoral process, noting that the
Election Commission of India (ECI) has placed special emphasis on their role.He
also clarified that there were no pending electoral issues at the ERO and DEO
levels in the state.
- Ketousie-u Khruomo, Assistant Electoral Officer (MIS),
provided a briefing on IT-related applications designed to facilitate voter
services. She highlighted platforms such as the Voters’ Service Portal,
National Grievance Redressal System (NGRS), and Saksham, explaining their
functionalities and the support they offer to electors.
- Representatives from six political parties
