DIMAPUR — The fourth meeting of the Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC), Nagaland Chapter, was held at the office of the PRO Defence in Kohima on September 8.
The meeting brought together representatives from central and state government departments and media organisations, including Akashvani, Doordarshan, Press Information Bureau, Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Defence, Directorate of Census Operations Nagaland, and the Department of Information and Public Relations.
According to an update, chairperson Ella Kayina, Head of Programme at Akashvani Kohima, outlined the objectives of the platform, noting the importance of regular coordination to strengthen the dissemination of information concerning government policies, programmes, and schemes.
Participating representatives reviewed major publicity initiatives undertaken during August 2026, including outreach activities on Har Ghar Tiranga, Khelo India Samvaad, 12 years of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, 10 years of Unified Payments Interface, and Mann Ki Baat. The committee was also briefed on preparatory activities for the Census 2027 enrolment process in Nagaland.
The PRO Defence highlighted military public relations and developmental initiatives in the state, while broadcasting representatives shared updates on documentary features and field stories focusing on rural areas.
The IMPCC serves as a coordination mechanism among state and central agencies to streamline public communications across Nagaland.
