DIMAPUR — Resurrection Sunday (Easter) was observed by the Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima (CBCK) and St. Xavier Parish in Kohima and Jalukie on April 5.
The Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima observed Resurrection Sunday at the church premises and called for a resurrected and renewed life.
Speaking at the morning service on the topic "The Risen King", Dr. Chikhungo Puro called upon the congregation to seek God faithfully. He stated that if one sincerely seeks God, He will take away their burden.
Later, Rev. Dr. Kevekhalo Lasuh talked on "The Returning King" at the evening worship service. Neposo Thelüo and Zhopota Rhakho led the morning and evening worship services, respectively.
St. Xavier Parish Jalukie celebrated Easter and Triduum, a period of three days which stands for prayer and devotion specifically in preparation for Easter.
Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter were celebrated in Jalukie, Jalukie B, Samziuram, Nkwareu, Mhainamtsi, Heningkunglwa, Ikesingram, and Jalukielo.
Rev. Fr. CJ Jaison, parish priest, prepared the communities with the help of Rev. Fathers Leavi, Binoy, John, Francis, David, Godfrey, George, Pravin, and Carolus.
Ikesingram Mission had Rev. Fr. C Joseph, counsellor of St. Joseph's College, as a preacher for three days in preparation for Easter.
