Nagaland CEO urges voters to check the draft electoral roll and file claims or objections before October 20, 2026.
DIMAPUR — The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Nagaland, has urged eligible voters to check their names in the draft electoral roll and file claims or objections before October 20, 2026, as part of the Special Drive for Inclusion of New and Left-out Electors across the state.
According to a DIPR report, the CEO Nagaland and the Election Commission of India (ECI) are committed to ensuring that “no eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll.”
The special drive is being conducted across all Assembly constituencies in Nagaland to ensure the inclusion of all eligible voters.
To achieve this objective, 17 District Election Officers, 44 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), 64 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), 63 Additional Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and 2,399 Booth Level Officers (BLOs), supported by 259 BLO Supervisors, are working across the state. The report stated that the proactive campaign would continue to ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll.
The CEO has appealed to anyone with grievances related to the electoral roll or requiring assistance in filling out Form-6 to contact the helpline at 1950 or visit the help desks set up at the offices of the District Election Officers at the district level or Electoral Registration Officers at the Assembly constituency level during office hours.
The CEO also clarified that voter enrolment is a year-round exercise, and any new or left-out voter can apply for inclusion in the electoral roll by submitting Form-6 at any time of the year.
Form-6 is used to apply for inclusion of a name in the electoral roll. Form-7 is meant for filing objections to the proposed inclusion of a name or seeking deletion of a name from the existing electoral roll.
Form-8 is used for shifting residence, correction of entries in the existing electoral roll, replacement of the Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC), and marking a person with a disability (PwD).
