CAWD reviewed major administrative infrastructure projects in Wokha, Tseminyu and Mokokchung.
KOHIMA — The Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD) Nagaland on Friday 24 reviewed the progress of major administrative infrastructure projects in Wokha, Tseminyu and Mokokchung, with CAWD Assistant Chief Engineer (ACE) Sungtiba Amer stating that the new deputy commissioner's office complex at Wokha remains on schedule for completion by May 2027.
Amer, who led the departmental inspection, visited the ongoing projects along with the respective deputy commissioners of the three districts to assess construction progress, review implementation and ensure adherence to approved timelines.
During the inspection tour, the team visited Tseminyu to inspect the ongoing construction of the new deputy commissioner's (DC) office complex, flat-type quarters and the proposed deputy commissioner's bungalow, along with Japheth Woch, deputy commissioner, and other district officials.
The Tseminyu DC complex, funded under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme and state funding, is designed as a G+2 RCC building with a 150-seat conference hall, besides provisions for accessibility features for persons with disabilities (PwDs) and an elevator.
The team proceeded to Wokha and inspected the ongoing construction of the new deputy commissioner's (DC) office complex along with K Mhathung Tsanglao, deputy commissioner, and other officials.
During the visit, the team reviewed the overall progress of the project, inspected key structural components of the building and assessed the pace of work against the approved construction schedule.
Amer commended the progress achieved and expressed satisfaction, stating that the project was advancing steadily.
He also expressed optimism that it would be completed within the stipulated timeline. In this regard, he urged the contractor and the executing agency to continue with the current momentum, as it would be crucial to meet the stipulated completion date.
The ACE emphasised the importance of regular monitoring, adding that periodic departmental inspections play a vital role in tracking project implementation, addressing challenges at an early stage, ensuring quality construction and facilitating the timely completion of vital government infrastructure projects.
The Wokha DC office complex is designed as a G+1 structure with two basement floors and is intended to house multiple administrative departments under one roof to improve administrative efficiency and public service delivery.
The work order for the project was issued in June 2025 with a completion period of 36 months. The project was approved by the State Level Project Monitoring and Implementation Committee (SLPMIC).
Later, the inspection team headed to Mokokchung, where the CAWD team, accompanied by Ajit Kumar Verma, deputy commissioner, and other officials, inspected the proposed site for the new additional deputy commissioner's residence and the ongoing construction of flat-type officers' quarters.
During the inspections of these upcoming projects, Amer stressed that the timely completion of key administrative infrastructure is essential for strengthening governance and enhancing public service delivery across the state.
