Nagaland bye-polls: Withdrawal period of candidature ends; 8 candidates in fray for 2 assembly seats

Dimapur, Oct. 19 (EMN): The period for withdrawal of candidature for contesting in the bye-elections to 14-Southem Angami-l and 60- Pungro-Kiphire assembly constituencies ended on Monday.

A press release from the chief electoral officer of Nagaland informed that the following candidates have confirmed their candidature:

For 14-Southern Angami- I:

(1) Kikovi Kirha - Naga People's Front.
(2) Medo Yhokha - Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party.
(3) Seyievilie Peter Zashumo - Independent.

For 60- Pungro- Kiphire:

 (1) Khaseo Anar - Indian National Congress.
(2) Lirimong Sangtam - Bharatiya Janata Party.
(3) S Kiusumew Yimchunger - Independent.
(4) K Shellumthong Yimchunger - Independent.
(5) T Yangseo Sangtam - Independent.

Polling will be conducted on November 3 from 6 am to 4 pm.
